The Middle Way

We humans celebrate and obsess over people who are the best at what they do. We celebrate the best players in a sport, the best students in the school, the best actors etc. We even celebrate the best criminals, whether they are considered the best con-artist, best thieves, best smuggler, or best drug dealer in history.

Celebrating the best in our society is equivalent to celebrating the extreme. As a result many people chase the extreme in order to seek the attention and the adoration of the masses. What many eventually find is that chasing the extreme comes with a huge price, whether that be deterioration in health,  close relationships or financially. Most people aren't built for the extreme in the long haul, therefore when they chase it far enough it ruins much of their lives.

Real overarching success and happiness is being able to move in and out from the extreme, ultimately centering yourself at the middle. It is being able to push yourself as hard as you can in your job, while being able to dial it back to be a considerate parent and spouse at home. It is being able to be a fierce participant in the marketplace while being able to dial it back and have enough humility to serve the less fortunate. It is being able to find time for work and downtime with family.

Truth itself is often found in the middle of polar opposite ideas. Too much nurturing with no discipline leads to spoiled brats, while too much discipline and no nurture leads to resentful and emotionally detached kids. The right way to grow plants is providing it a balance of micronutrients, water and sunshine. Excess or lack of any of these three ingredient will cause the plant to die. You will find this to be true in many areas in life where the correct way to go about something is often found at the middle.

We live in a divided world. Our society has reached a level of polarization where governments can't even operate effectively. What we need right now as a society is to find that middle way, find that common ground set of ideas and values that unite each one us and not just harp on the things that make us different. If we can find that middle path there is hope for us yet, otherwise if we continue to let the extreme flourish than only severe division, conflicts and hardship awaits us.

God vs Money

We live in a world currently where for most people, money is God whether or not they like to admit it. Secularism and consumerism has grown to such a extent that the pursuit of wealth and material success has become the center of people's lives. Many for the sake of accumulating money have put aside their ethics and compromised their moral values, demonstrating their idolization of money.  Conversely, many no longer place much value in organized religion and spirituality . Some Church's have been vandalized and burnt down. Attendance has declined drastically, and religious institutions hold ever lesser sway over public discourse and personal beliefs. Mans struggle throughout ones life and history has been between whether one serves either God or money. This existential conflict encapsulates the fundamental question of where one's allegiance lies: with spiritual values or material pursuits. Choosing to serve God entails prioritizing principles of faith, morality, and compas...

The Lost Art of Sacrifice

In a world obsessed with comfort and self-gratification, the ancient wisdom of sacrifice stands in stark contrast to our modern mindset. Jesus's parable of the rich fool in Luke 12 serves as a powerful reminder that true abundance isn't found in what we store up for ourselves, but in what we give away. The Rich Fool's Fatal Mistake The parable tells of a wealthy man whose land produced an abundant harvest. Instead of sharing his blessing, he decided to tear down his barns to build bigger ones, telling himself, "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." But God's response was swift and sobering: "You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?" This powerful story reveals God's perspective—He abhors those who selfishly hoard resources while telling themselves to take life easy. By contrast, He loves those who take life seriously a...

What Really Killed Charlie Kirk

On September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University, a tragic event unfolded that shook the western world to its core. Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA and a vocal conservative leader, was addressing a crowd of young supporters when a bullet struck his neck. In an instant, chaos erupted, and Kirk was gone. President Trump labeled it a "political assassination," sparking widespread mourning and outrage. But just weeks prior, another heartbreaking loss occurred: Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee, was brutally stabbed on a Charlotte light rail by a repeat offender with 14 prior convictions—freed due to lenient "progressive" policies. Kirk's last X post fiercely politicized her death, blaming the system that allowed her killer to walk free. Today, we're not dwelling on the graphic videos still circulating on social media. Instead, let's confront the deeper question: What really killed Iryan Zarutska ? And what really kil...
